Competition Math and Computer Science Preparation
CSR-COMP2 (30 classes total, 1.5 hours per class)
This class prepares students for success in popular math and computer science competitions and provides enrichment beyond the typical math concepts taught in school. Students practice “unplugged” paper-and-pencil problems in a fun and supportive environment – helping the students build confidence and experience. Topics include: deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, Boolean algebra, sets and Venn diagrams, introductory Graph Theory, and more.
Students prepare for the Math Kangaroo and the Continental Mathematics League Math and Computer Science competitions, all three of which are hosted by our school. No experience necessary.
There are no pre-requisites for this class, though students should be at or above the 4th grade level in mathematics. Students are not required to be enrolled in one of our computer science classes, although students who also enroll in CSR-100 receive a 10% discount on tuition for this class.
